The ARC of Delaware County

The ARC of Delaware County

Description:

The Arc of Delaware County (DELARC) is a non-profit membership organization incorporated in 1956 by parents advocating for the health and well-being of their children with mental retardation.

Historically, The Arc of Delaware County has played a vital leadership role in securing civil rights and community inclusion for all persons with intellectual and related disabilities, including the right to education, workplace accommodation and community living. DELARC is a chapter of The Arc of Pennsylvania and an affiliate of The Arc of the United States.

It is the mission of The Arc of Delaware County to advocate for the rights, opportunities and self-determination of persons with intellectual and related disabilities. Together our network of members and community partners, we provide advocacy services for individuals and families, connect people with resources, improve systems of supports and services, promote inclusive community practices, and influence public policy.
