
The Down Syndrome Association of Pittsburgh![]() Description: The Down Syndrome Association of Pittsburgh (formally know as the Down Syndrome Group of Western Pennsylvania) is an organization created for individuals and families affected by Down syndrome to offer assistance, create awareness and gain acceptance of Down syndrome throughout our communities. We are a volunteer organization of parents and professionals interested in the quality of life, health, and well being of individuals who have Down syndrome. The Down Syndrome Association is comprised of a Planning Committee and a mailing membership of approximately 2,000. Our purpose is to educate the public, inform parents about developments in research and clinical practice, and advocate for the rights of persons with Down syndrome. Our mission at the Down Syndrome Association of Pittsburgh (DSAP) is simple. We are here to provide support to families and individuals with Down syndrome through education, information, and the exchange of ideas and experiences.
